Painting, walls and ceilings

Smooth walls and ceilings, on a sound base.

We paint walls, ceilings, doors and frames, and build new partition walls and ceilings. If there are cracks or damp, our engineer finds the cause first, so you don’t paint twice.

Before painting

A crack that is painted over comes back.

Hairline cracks in plaster are usually shrinkage cracks and are dealt with when the wall is prepared. A crack that grows, runs diagonally from a window or comes with doors that stick is another matter: it may come from the structure or the foundations.

In that case our engineer assesses it before painting and tells you what to do; with a report, if needed.

  • Shrinkage cracks: opened up, filled and reinforced with mesh
  • Growing cracks: assessed by the engineer before anything is done
  • Damp: first the cause (ventilation, a leak or condensation), then the paint

Frequently asked questions

About painting, walls and ceilings.

Price, timescales and cracks.

How much does it cost to paint a house in the Netherlands?

With us, painting a 30 m² living room, walls and ceiling, costs from €1,850 at Comfort level, with the surface prepared, primer and two coats. A whole home depends on the area and the condition of the walls; we give you the price per room after the visit.

Do you paint walls that have cracks?

Yes, but first we look at the crack. Hairline cracks in plaster are repaired when the wall is prepared. If the crack grows or runs diagonally from a window or door, our engineer assesses it before painting, so that it does not come back.

How long does it take to paint a home?

One room takes one or two working days; a whole home, one to two weeks, depending on the area and the repairs. The dates are in the quote.

Do you also do partition walls, ceilings and wall finishes?

Yes: partition walls and wall linings in metal studs and plasterboard, new or lowered ceilings with recessed spotlights and wiring to NEN 1010, and wall finishes in timber slats, stone or mural wallpaper.

Is the price fixed? What if something comes up during the work?

Yes. After the visit you receive a fixed-price quote, itemised line by line. If something turns up when we open up that could not be seen before, we show it to you, give you the price in writing and only carry on with your approval.

Which areas of the Netherlands do you cover?

The whole of the Netherlands. We agree the date of the visit with you; calculations and drawings can also be done remotely.
