What you don’t see

The smallest room, with the same rules.

A wall-hung WC puts all its weight on the frame: we anchor it to a wall or floor that can take it and, if the floor is timber, the engineer checks the joists. We also check where the waste pipe is and whether the concealed cistern fits, check the ventilation and the clear height the Buildings Decree requires, and photograph the installation before closing it in.

  • Frame anchored to a wall or floor that can take it
  • Waste pipe and fall checked before closing up
  • Moisture-resistant board on the walls before tiling
  • Ventilation checked: a toilet without extraction ends up with mould
  • A clear height of at least 2 metres (Bbl)

How we work

Everything in writing, before we start.

Five steps. You always know what is happening and who is responsible.

  1. 01

    Visit and measuring up

We look at the house, take measurements and talk through what you want. If the renovation affects the structure, the engineer comes too.

  2. 02

    Fixed price

Within 48 hours you have an itemised quote, with the schedule.

  3. 03

    Calculation and permit

If needed, we calculate, draw and submit the permit application with your authorisation. Work starts once the permit is granted.

  4. 04

    The works

A dedicated project manager coordinates all the trades. Everything that will be hidden is photographed before it is closed in.

  5. 05

    Handover

We check the result together. You receive the handover file and a 12-month guarantee.

If you sign the contract at your home or at a distance, you have 14 days to withdraw without giving a reason. Within that period we only start if you ask us to in writing.

Frequently asked questions

About toilet renovation.

Price, timescale and what we need from you.

How much does a toilet renovation cost in the Netherlands?

With us, a complete toilet renovation of about 1.5 m² costs from €3,850 at Comfort level: strip-out, concealed cistern with a wall-hung WC, plumbing, tiling, hand basin and finishing. Tiling up to the ceiling or adding a bidet shower changes the price; you get it in writing before we start.

How long does a toilet renovation take?

Two or three working days for a complete toilet renovation. If the waste pipe has to be moved or you want tiles up to the ceiling, we tell you in the quote, with the exact number of days.

Can a wall-hung toilet use the existing waste pipe?

Often, yes. At the visit we check where the waste pipe is and whether the concealed cistern fits. If it has to be moved, that goes in the quote with its price, not afterwards.

Can you fit a bidet shower next to the toilet?

Yes: a concealed mixer with a hand-held shower. It has to be decided before the wall is closed, because the water supply is built into the wall; it is a separate line in the quote.

Do I need a permit to renovate my toilet?

No, as long as the load-bearing structure does not change; in a listed building (monument) you do. A renovated toilet must have ventilation and a clear height of at least 2 metres (Bbl), and we check that for you.

Is the price fixed? What if something comes up during the work?

Yes. After the visit you receive a fixed-price quote, itemised line by line. If something turns up when we open up that could not be seen before, we show it to you, give you the price in writing and only carry on with your approval.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Photos of the room, the measurements and an idea of what you want: type of finish, shower or bath, vanity unit, splashback. With that we give you an indicative price; then we measure up at your home and within 48 hours you have the fixed price.

Tell us about your toilet.

With a few photos, the measurements and, if you have one, the floor plan, we give you an indicative price. Then we measure up at your home and send you the fixed price.

We plan a limited number of projects each month, so that each one has its own project manager from start to finish.

No obligation. We reply within one working day.
